One day, all children in the New York metro area will have the opportunity to pursue higher education and to fully capitalize on their talents, aspirations, and leadership to have fulfilling careers and create a better world.

Our Mission

The mission of the “I Have A Dream” Foundation – New York Metro Area is to empower children and families living in underserved areas of the tri-state region to reach their college and career goals by providing a dynamic, long-term program of mentoring, tutoring, and enrichment with an assured opportunity for higher education.

The Reality

Today, less than 40% of children in under-served communities will graduate high school, and only 10% will earn a bachelor’s degree. We are changing that reality by providing a continuous program of academic support, enrichment, and leadership development for our ‘Dreamers,’ from their early elementary years all the way through college. Upon high school graduation, each Dreamer receives tuition assistance for higher education.
