Thierry Cazeau

Thierry Cazeau began working with youth as a Special Needs Worker for the Youth Development Association (YDA) in Huntington, NY. After earning his MSW and CSW in 1994, he began working as a counselor for troubled youth in Hawthorne, NY under the auspices of the Jewish Board of Family and Children's Services. From 1996 - 2001 he served as an Assistant Director, working with at-risk youth at Satellite III Academy, a junior high school in Bedford Stuyvesant, NY, for The Institute for Student Achievement (ISA).

In December 2001, Thierry was hired by the “I Have A Dream” Foundation - New York Metro Area to serve as the Project Coordinator for the Ravenswood "I Have A Dream" program in Long Island City, Queens, the neighborhood in which he grew up. Through the efforts of a dynamic team, supportive Sponsor and the hard work of the Dreamers and families, 60 of the 65 Ravenswood Dreamers earned their high school diplomas or GEDs and 51 enrolled in college.

In July 2005, Thierry accepted an offer to serve as the Deputy Director of IHDF-NY. In addition to providing overall support to the programs and staff, he also had the unique opportunity to stay connected with the Ravenswood Dreamers and continue providing them access to resources and support throughout their college experiences.

Thierry was named Executive Director of IHDF-NY in December 2008. Thierry and the NY team are committed to enhancing the support structure for the IHDF-NY programs; increasing their access to quality educational and enrichment resources; and continually working towards the goal of college matriculation and graduation of all Dreamers

Hilary Cramer

Hilary Cramer joined the New York team 2006, after serving as the Alumni Coordinator for 96 Dreamers from the "I Have A Dream" - Chelsea-Elliott I Program, the first public housing based "I Have A Dream" program in the country. As Communications and Development Manager at IHDF-NY, Hilary is responsible for coordinating all development efforts, including grant proposals, solicitations, and events. She is also responsible for creating the biannual newsletter and updating the organization’s website.

Hilary holds a bachelor's degree in Sociology and Educational Studies from Trinity College in Harford Connecticut, and is currently pursuing her Master's degree in Non-Profit Management from The New School for Management and Urban Policy.

Catherine Diamond, MPH

Catherine Diamond has been with the “I Have A Dream” Foundation – New York Metro Area since 2007. As the Director of Health Literacy, she is creating and piloting Building Wellness (TM) under the auspices of the Eugene M. Lang Foundation. Building Wellness is the first youth health literacy program designed for after-school programs. She is also developing a complementary parent program as well as helping other IHDF-NY sites tailor wellness programming for their site.

Catherine holds a bachelor’s degree in International Affairs from the George Washington University, as well as a Master of Public Health degree from New York University. Previously, Catherine served as the Manager of Patient Education and Outreach at The Wellness Community in Washington, DC.

Treston Lambert currently is the assistant director of the Chelsea-Elliott II “I Have a Dream” Program. He has been in this position since May 2007, prior to this position he was the Assistant Director at the Harlem Children’s Zone Inc, TRUCE program. During his 13 years at the Harlem Children’s Zone Inc. Mr. Lambert has progress from an intern to a supervisor, to a program supervisor before his position with the TRUCE program. Mr. Lambert has an extensive knowledge of Community Based Organizations and the New York City school system. He has served has a certified mediator for Victim Services of New York. He has received national training from the Children’s Defense Fund and the Corporation for National Services. 

Natalie Corujo

Natalie Corujo is a dreamer alumni from the “I Have a Dream” Chelsea Elliott I program. Natalie started working with the Chelsea Elliott II program in 2004 as supporting staff member.  She currently holds a BA in English Language Arts from Hunter College. As Program Manager, she overseas programming and program events, coordinates a mentoring program, supervises federal work-study students, and serves as the liaison for the 6th Grade Dreamers.

Terrence Stokes Jr. is a Dreamer alumni from the “I Have a Dream” Chelsea Elliott I program. Terrence started working with the Chelsea Elliott II program in November of 2007 as Volunteer Coordinator.  He currently holds a BS in Marketing from Johnson & Wales University. As Manager of Volunteer Services, he overseas programming and volunteers events, coordinates a mentoring program. He also supervises, recruits, trains and screens all Chelsea II volunteers.

Marvin Cabrera

Marvin Cabrera has worked with youth for over 18 years developing academic, career, and enrichmentprograms to support their college aspirations.  He has worked with undergraduate and professional volunteers to extend academic tutoring and college mentoringto middle and high school youth.  Marvin also formed partnerships to provide enrichment opportunities and career experiences, and to augment college scholarships for the youth, alumni and volunteers with whom he worked.

Marvin previously worked at Columbia University’s Double Discovery Center, where he served as an academic counselor guiding twelfth graders and their families through the college and financial aid process.  In this role, he helped over 90% of his students gain admission to college.  He also has servedas an assistant director, expanding his work at Double Discovery Center to include oversight of a 7th through 12th grade program.  Through his leadership, Marvin was able to guide the development of a seamless program that included year-round academic and cultural enrichment activities for the youth and parent support workshops for their parents.  In his capacity as outreach coordinator, Marvin worked with Double Discovery Center alumni and volunteers to expand center-wide academic, college, career, and enrichment programming as well as solidify community and corporate partnerships.  

Marvin also has led college, financial aid, and career workshops forThe Facing History School, Global Communications Institute, Figure Skating in Harlem, Alpha G.E.N.T.S., Harlem Hospital Family Care, MOUSE Corps, and DOME Project.

Marvin holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and received his undergraduate degree in Spanish from Wesleyan University.  He lives with his wife, Chaumtoli, and their children Zarif and Liyana on the Upper West Side.

Leslie Gately

Leslie Gately holds a BA in Sociology from Middlebury College. Prior to graduate school, Leslie spent several years providing direct service, program management, and fundraising support to several human service organizations.

During the 2009-2010 school year, Leslie interned at the “I Have A Dream” Foundation – NY: DeHostos-Wise Program while earning her Masters in Social Work degree from Columbia University in 2010. In her time at DeHostos-Wise,  Leslie worked with the Dreamers in the program to provide individual counseling that focused on creating short and long term goals, increasing their coping, social skills, social supports, and academic functioning. In addition, she conducted psychosocial assessments with the Dreamer families, facilitated psycho-educational groups with a focus on peer pressure, sex education, self-esteem, and bullying; created psycho-educational curriculum for group sessions on healthy romantic relationships, provided case-management and crisis intervention for multi-stressed families and maintained contact with schools, families, and outside agencies.

In October 2010, Leslie returned to the DeHostos-Wise Program to assist the Dreamers, families and staff during a very difficult time for program. She accepted a position as the Assistant Program Director in December 2010.

Shari Alleyne
Program Director, Melrose I

Shari Alleyne has co-coordinated and overseen all programmatic aspects of the IHAD program since the program's inception in 1998. Ms. Alleyne has 12 years experience working with at-risk youth and not-for profit organizations.

Ray Llanos

Ray Llanos, Program Director of the Melrose II “I Have A Dream” Program, has been with the program since it¹s inception in the summer of 2002. As Program Director, Ray oversees and co-facilitates the daily programming for the Dreamers of the Melrose II program, who are now in 9th grades and in various high schools throughout the New York City. Ray designs and implements programs that are age appropriate and serves the needs of the Dreamers. The Melrose II program fuses academics, civic and social education, arts and cultural enrichment along with personal wellness activities to help create Dreamers ready for college and the world. Ray has a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of the District of Columbia. Ray Llanos is also an accomplished artist in the field of photography.

Larry Johnson

Larry Johnson is the Program Director for the Plainfield “I Have A Dream” program. He joined IHDF- Plainfield in 2002 after working with the Liberty Science Center in Jersey City, NJ and Girls, Inc. in Newark, DE. He obtained his undergraduate degree in History from the University of Delaware in 1997, and then earned a Masters in Non-Profit Management from Farleigh Dickinson in 2007. Larry works very closely with his 65 Dreamers and provides them with a number of programs including tutoring, mentoring, counseling, and enrichment activities.

Karlisle Honore

Karlisle Honore is a native New Yorker who became involved in working with youth and the non-profit organizations through her work with Literacy Volunteers of America, Inc., New York Cares, Inc. and Groundwork, Inc. all spoke to herinterest in service, youth development and education outside of thetraditional school setting. Karlisle joined "I Have a Dream" in 2005 as the Program Director of the Ravenswood “I Have A Dream” program. Her Dreamers are currently in 5th and 6th grade.

Karlisle currently holds a B.A. in Anthropology from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and an M.S. degreein Urban Studies from Hunter College in New York City. Her personal hobbies include spending time with friends and family, learning about other cultures and foreign languages, and working on becoming multi-lingual.

Matthew Wright

Matthew Wright, a native of Boston, MA, graduated from the School of Social Work at New York University in May 2005 with degrees in Social Work and Politics. He has experience working with youth of all ages, the elderly and homeless individuals. His work with children includes eight years at Summer Arts at Derby teaching classes based on visual arts, performing arts, and athletics, as well as three years in the New York City school system as an assistant teacher through the America Reads Program.

Matt is a resident of Brooklyn, NY and has been the Assistant Project Coordinator for the Ravenswood II “I Have A Dream" program for over three years.
